Sing Softly is a photo book made up of black and white photographs inverted digitally. The images are photos of the sky that I took while I still lived with my parents and photographs of the lake that I grew up next to. The ethereal nature of the inversion reflects the way I look back at my hometown and recall memories from my childhood. The text is sourced from the album Act I: The Lake South, the River North by The Dear Hunter, a narrative studio album that I was listening to and obsessing over as I thought about this work.
